AudioMatch privacy policy

AudioMatch is a Chrome extension designed to identify and display the original spoken audio language and AI dubbing status of YouTube videos. This privacy policy outlines how the extension interacts with technical data. Short version: it collects no personal information.

What AudioMatch accesses

• YouTube pages you visit: The extension reads video elements on YouTube pages you navigate to, enabling it to position language chips directly beside thumbnails and video titles.
• Public YouTube player metadata: For videos displayed on your screen, your browser requests public caption and audio track manifests from YouTube public endpoints. These requests are made without your YouTube account session cookies.

What AudioMatch stores locally

• User settings: Your chosen target language and display mode (dim, hide or label) are saved via Chrome storage sync so preferences persist across your signed-in browsers.
• Local metadata cache: Detected video language tags, dubbing status and timestamps are stored in Chrome local storage on your device. Cached records automatically expire after 14 days, or can be cleared immediately via the popup.

What AudioMatch does not do

• It does not collect, transmit, profile or sell personal information, browsing history or viewing habits.
• It operates without external servers: Sorami receives zero data from the extension.
• It includes no third-party analytics, advertising libraries, tracking beacons or fingerprinting scripts.
• It operates strictly on https://www.youtube.com/* and accesses no other websites.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use compliance

AudioMatch adheres strictly to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including all Limited Use restrictions. We do not transfer user data to third parties, use user data for creditworthiness or advertising, or employ remote code execution.

Children's privacy

AudioMatch does not collect personal data from any user, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, revisions will be published at https://sorami.com.au/products/audiomatch/privacy/ with an updated effective date.
